I love blue, it features in two rooms in my home and I wear a lot of it. In my home I’ve used a soft blue with pink in the bedroom which is inspired by the sea, coastal pink flowers and sunset skies. In the lounge I’ve used a darker navy tone which is nautical in feel. Come the summer and we are dreaming of the coast and summer holidays, it’s a great time to add some nautical or coastal themed decor accessories to suit the season. I’ve found a nautical blue collection that would help to create this summer look in your home.
Being creative in your home doesn’t have to be with items you’ve made yourself, you can create environments in your home that evoke feelings and inspire you in the way that you live in your spaces. One of the easiest ways to do this without changing up your entire furniture and furnishings, is to add accents of colour, to create little displays of themed items, or just to add accessories. These items will help you dream of coastal breaks but also blue is known to be a calming colour. Deep blues remind you of the sea and the navy tone of blue denotes intelligence and trustworthiness and is a good colour for grounding and making living spaces relaxing.

Ooh I love this – I’ve been quite tempted for a while to do my bathroom is a beach hut / seasidey theme! 🙂
A Beachy seaside theme works so well in a bathroom, doesn’t it?! Thanks Sarah
That first colour board is STUNNING. I’m a little biased because most of my house is decorated blue so the nautical theme always appeals to me. Lovely picks!
Thanks Karen, I love it too!
Aaah I LOVE this whole scheme!!! The coastal look really, really appeals to me — which is funny as we couldn’t live any further away from the sea!!! Perhaps that’s why I like it so much 🙂 I love everything you’ve chosen Abi.Thanks so much for linking up with us on #HomeEtc — Caro x
I know it’s so appealing to me, we live far too far away from the sea too!
